Product Introduction:

Arachidic-Behenic Acid is a mixture of two long-chain saturated fatty acids, Arachidic Acid (Eicosanoic Acid) and Behenic Acid (Docosanoic Acid). This blend is known for its unique properties and wide range of applications across various industries.

Arachidic Acid, with a chemical formula of C20H40O2, is a 20-carbon saturated fatty acid that is found in peanut butter and certain anaerobic fungi. It is a solid at room temperature, with a melting point of 74-76°C, and is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents like chloroform。 Behenic Acid, on the other hand, is a 22-carbon saturated fatty acid with a chemical formula of C22H44O2, known for its high melting point and waxy texture.

This mixture is valued for its lubricating properties and is used in the manufacturing of cosmetics, personal care products, waxes, textile auxiliaries, pharmaceuticals, food-grade products, plastics, and emulsifiers. The high melting point of these fatty acids makes them suitable for applications requiring a solid, stable product at room temperature. They are also used in the production of alkyd resins, rubber, mineral-flotation, adjuvants, foam depressants, caulking compounds, lubricants, buffing polishes, metallic soaps, abrasives, metal treating compounds, candles, crayons, and more.

Arachidic-Behenic Acid mixtures are characterized by their light color and excellent oxidative and thermal stability, making them useful in sensitive applications where purity and performance are crucial. They contribute to the oxidative stability of products due to their higher content of oleic acid, antioxidant phenolics, and tocopherols, which help in extending the shelf life. These acids are also recognized for their potential medicinal and pharmaceutical applications due to their antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant, antiseptic, antiaging, antibacterial, and emollient activities.
